Careers

Time on a kill floor counts as experience here.

We hire people who know the trade and teach them credit, more often than the reverse. If you have run a counter, serviced refrigeration, managed a yard or worked a plant floor, that is directly relevant experience rather than something to explain away.

Sec. 01 — How this place works

Four things worth knowing before you apply.

We do not pay more for the worse product

Advisor compensation is deliberately flattened across products so that recommending a term loan over an advance does not cost the person making the recommendation money. This is unusual in the industry and it is the single most important thing about how we operate.

Trade background counts as experience

Time on a kill floor, behind a counter, in a distribution yard or servicing refrigeration is treated as directly relevant experience, not as something to be explained away. Several of our best advisors had never worked in finance before joining.

You will be expected to say no

Declining a deal that would hurt a customer is part of the job and it is tracked as a positive, not a lost opportunity. If you cannot tell someone their plan will not work, this is the wrong desk.

One advisor, start to finish

We do not split files between a salesperson and a closer. You own the relationship from first call to funding, which means you carry the outcome as well as the commission.

Sec. 02 — Open roles

4 positions open.

Funding Advisor — Equipment and cold chain

Omaha, NEFull time

Own a book of equipment and refrigeration files end to end, from first call through funding. You will talk to butchers and plant managers every day and you will be expected to know what they are describing.

What you would do

  • Take inbound files, read bank statements, and identify the two or three funding partners that actually fit
  • Convert every offer to a true APR and present the honest comparison, including the option we make less on
  • Work the file through underwriting and close it
  • Tell customers when the answer is no, and why, on the first call rather than the third week

What we are looking for

  • Trade background strongly preferred — refrigeration service, plant operations, equipment sales or a counter
  • Comfort reading a profit and loss and a bank statement, or willingness to learn it quickly
  • A low tolerance for selling someone the wrong product because it pays better

Credit Analyst

Omaha, NEFull time

Underwrite files across the whole product range, from a $30,000 equipment note to a $4M plant buildout. This desk decides what we can actually get done.

What you would do

  • Spread financials and build the credit narrative that goes to the funding partner
  • Scope-check cold storage and buildout projects against what the contractor quote actually covers
  • Identify stacking risk and structural losses early, before a file becomes a bad outcome
  • Own the relationship with a portion of the lender network

What we are looking for

  • Two or more years in commercial credit, SBA, or agricultural lending
  • Food manufacturing or cold chain exposure is a significant advantage
  • Willingness to decline a deal and explain the decision clearly

SBA Closing Specialist

Omaha, NEFull time

Move SBA files from approval to funding without losing the customer to the paperwork. Most of our SBA book is advance consolidation, so the clock matters.

What you would do

  • Manage document collection, third-party reports and closing conditions
  • Coordinate appraisal and environmental on real estate files
  • Keep the customer informed weekly so a 60-day close does not feel like silence

What we are looking for

  • SBA 7(a) or 504 closing experience
  • Organised to the point of being slightly irritating about it

Funding Advisor — Northeast distribution

Melville, NYFull time

Cover distribution, restaurant groups and certified markets across the Northeast corridor from Brooklyn to Boston.

What you would do

  • Build and own a regional book across distribution, restaurants and certified retail
  • Work factoring, line of credit and equipment files
  • Represent MMC at regional trade events

What we are looking for

  • Background in food distribution, wholesale or multi-unit restaurant operations
  • Familiarity with halal or kosher certification requirements is a real advantage

Sec. 03 — Nothing that fits

Send us something anyway.

We open roles across all three desks — Omaha, Fort Worth, Melville — and we read speculative applications from people with trade backgrounds properly rather than filing them.
